Task 6 Universities Around the World

***warning = related to the food festival, the dish you prepare as sample has to be cooked by the group, no ready-made dishes are allowed (no exotic drinks, chocolate, pizza Hut, KFC, Mcdonalds, Buger King, Subway and the like)

Universities Around the World

1. teacher makes groups
2. group picks a continent (done by the teacher)
3. each group has to research everything about the univesity as if someone were interested in applying there.
4. make a powerpoint presentation
5. each group has 20 minites to present as if they were the representatives of that university coming down to E.S. to recruit students.

Task 5 Festivals around the Globe

Please buy the material on Conditionals and Reading Assignment "The Life of Certain Pacific Islanders"

The next task is about Festivals around the Globe.

1. Make groups of 5 members each.
2. teacher will assign continent
3. choose one country (from the continent you were assigned), select a department or province of that country, a specific town or county.
4. choose a specific festival celebrated in that town or county.
5. find out everything related to that festival such as the history, reasons, or any other important imformation.
6. prepare a presentation in which you will be the embassador to that festival.
7. cook a dish (food: any kind of dish particular to that festival) and prepare portions as sample for five people.
8. bring the dish you prepared on the day of your presentation.
9. presentations will take place on Thursday, October 20, 2011.

Salvadoran Heroes --CNN Heroes - Task 3

This is tribute to people who make a difference in our country, in our commmunities. You have to write a story about your Heroe and here is the link to one of the stories:
